In order to meet the USPS minimum height requirement, the treated lumber post must be buried no less than 30 inches into the ground, with no less than 18 inches visible above ground. You will then rest the plastic sleeve (included) over the treated lumber post and install the Whitehall aluminum post over the plastic sleeve so that it is flush with the ground. After applying a small amount of Silicon Sealer (included) to the holes, you will secure the aluminum post to the treated lumber post with lag bolts (included). Next, you will secure the brackets and install your cap finial.
